The scenic destination of Palampur is an extremely romantic place with a combination of the magnificent hills and serene plains. One can soak in the natural beauty of the place by going on short walks.

Bundla chasm in Palampur is a great place to explore by foot. The chasm falls over a 100 meter cliff into the thin streak Bundla stream which runs over stony grounds far below the cliff. During monsoons the stream swells and flows with a huge force over the stony ground and makes a roaring sound like thunder.

Palampur is extremely famous for two key institutions - The Agriculture University and the CSIR Complex. Other places of attraction include Neugal Cafe, Sourabh Van Vihar, The village of Andretta, Devi Latti Jakhni's temple and Mata Bandla Devi's temple.

To get a fine view of the Dhauladar ranges and an ideal picnic spot one can escape to the Neugal Cafe or Neugal Khad. The place is just about 2 kms from Palampur.

The village of Andretta is about 13 kms from Palampur and is the home of famous artist late Sardar Shobha Singh and also the famous play writer Norah Richards. Apart from giving magnificent views of the Dhauladar ranges, this place is like a pilgrimage for art lovers as it houses the art gallery of Sardar Shobha Singh.

There many scenic and famous places to visit around Palampur. About 35kms away is the village named Bir and Beelling famous for its Buddhist monasteries. Surrounded by tea gardens and an amphitheatre of low hills, Bir is an ideal spot for para gliders. About 14kms from Bir with an arena of 200 kms is Beeling which is situated up the hill. Beeling is one of the best aerosports sites in the country given its high altitude and location.

About 16 kms from Palampur is the ancient and most remarkable monument of Himachal Pradesh - the baijnath temple. The ancient temple of Lord Shiva consists of an ''Adytum'' surrounded by a spire of the usual conical shape with a ''Mandap'' covered with a low pyramid shaped roof. The ''Adytum'' contains the Lingam. Part of the twelve jyotirlingas Baijnath is believed to be the place where Ravana worshipped Lord Shiva and gained immortality.

The hill town of Palampur is about 40kms from Kangra. Gaggal airport which is the closest air connectivity is located 50 km. from Palampur. The nearest railhead is Pathankot about 95 km from Kangra. The destination is easily accessible by road through state run buses and cabs. It is connected to all the major towns in Himachal Pradesh. Delhi is the nearest metro city and stands at a distance of about 494kms.
